The Lincoln Tunnel is a 95 feet underwater tunnel below the Hudson River. It is approximately 1.5 miles long and build costs around $1.5 Billion USD (adjusted to inflation).

It is an important route connecting the New York Metropolitan Area. It connect Weehawken to the west with Midtown Manhattan in New York City to the east.

The construction of tunnel started in 1934 and it was opened in Dec 1937. The tunnel design was done by Ole Singstad (a Norwegian-born civil engineer).
