The full-form of LIC is Life Insurance Corporation of India.

LIC is an India's largest insurance company under Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

After passing of Life Insurance of India Act in 1956, LIC was founded and came into existence by nationalizing all private major and minor insurers in India.
