Amelia Mary Earhart was born July 24, 1897. She was an American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences, and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.
Amelia Earhart needed money to finance her flying passion. She launched luggage line (marketed as Modernaire Earhart Luggage) which was powerful and lightweight cargo.
The luggage line that she promoted also bore her unmistakable stamp. A wide range of promotional items with the Earhart name appeared aftersoon.
