Howard Hughes was linked to actress Katharine Hepburn.
In the late 1930's, Hughes had an outstanding relationship with a well-known actress, Katharine Hepburn. They met as they both worked hard to become rich and famous in business.
It was during this time that Hepburn made a few films that exploded and were literally referred to as the poison of the box office. Hughes was so enamored with Katharine that he proposed marriage. However, Hepburn was determined to get his work back on track. He starred in Broadway drama 'The Philadelphia Story', and bought film rights for the show with the help of Howard. The movie was a huge success and resumed its good work. The relationship between Howard and Katharine ended in a stalemate.
